Bringing Together St. Olaf & Carleton Students
With support from the Broadening the Bridge initiative, music faculty at St. Olaf and Carleton are pleased to announce the inaugural Student Music Research Symposium, which will take place Saturday, May 2, 2015. The Symposium is intended to provide a forum for students to share original research and creative work they’ve done in and out of courses in a low-stakes, supportive environment that nevertheless reproduces the exciting intellectual atmosphere of a professional conference, thus offering students valuable experience presenting their work. By bringing students and faculty from St. Olaf and Carleton together to celebrate exemplary student work in music, the Symposium fosters collaboration and deepens connections between our communities.
A keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Carol Oja, William Powell Mason Professor of Music at Harvard University (and graduate of St. Olaf College, class of 1974).
